In honor and remembrance of 10 years since Justin’s passing Legacy of Honor has planned an assembly at Hancock Central School to talk about the values of a soldier. The assembly will be Thursday, January 18th at 12:30 and the public is invited.

Todd Jacobs will begin the hour long assembly with some memories of what Justin meant to Hancock and what Hancock meant to Justin. The Keynote Speaker is COL Andrew Hanson. He was Justin’s Company Commander and is now the Garrison Commander at West Point Military Academy. Retired COL Peter Farrell (HCS Class of 1971, West Point Class of 1975) will give the closing remarks. All are welcome.

On Friday, January 19th Legacy of Honor is planning a Chili dinner for Veterans and their spouses starting at 4:00 to 6:30 at the Hancock Legion after which we will be attending the Hancock Cinemas to watch the movie 12 Strong. This movie is about the Horse Soldiers. The Greatest Story Never Told. Chris Spence, Justin’s Team Sergeant who spoke at his funeral, was one of the horse soldiers who went on the mission. His photo inspired the Horse Soldier Statue that stands at Ground Zero.

A special thank you to Mike and Cindy Argiros for going above and beyond to get this movie on it’s premiere night which happens to be Justin’s 10 year anniversary. All things come full circle.

Please come join us for an evening of honor and remembrance.
